In a recent article by The Journal, Wildwood Middle School in Shenandoah Junction creatively combined its parent-teacher conferences with Red Ribbon Week activities to promote drug-free living. Principal Jennifer Moss emphasized the importance of engaging families and educating them about the dangers of substance abuse through interactive events like trick-or-treating, a glow party, and a free spaghetti dinner. The school also featured the Hidden in Plain Sight program to help parents identify potential drug hiding spots in teenagers' rooms, reinforcing the notion that education should encompass social and emotional well-being alongside academics.
