Two Indicted for COVID Fraud in West Virginia Involving Ranson Resident

According to The Panhandle News Network, two women, Kimberly VanKline and Rhonda Brown-Moore, have been indicted for wire fraud and conspiracy, allegedly obtaining COVID-19 relief funds improperly. From February to August 2021, the pair submitted falsified documents to acquire Paycheck Protection Program loans on behalf of a Ranson resident, misrepresenting business income through fake documentation. The United States suffered a loss of at least $49,999 as a result of their actions. Each faces up to 20 years in federal prison for the charges. The investigation was led by the FBI, and the U.S. Attorney's Office continues to tackle COVID-related fraud.
