In a recent Veterans Day event highlighted by The Journal, the South Jefferson Public Library celebrated the contributions of veterans with an engaging party reminiscent of the North Platte Canteen, which served troops during WWII. The event features performances by the Blue and Gray Chorus, creating a festive atmosphere for attendees. Additionally, library officials announced plans to expand the library's facilities, doubling its size to accommodate the community's needs, as the current space has become overcrowded since its opening in 2004. The expansion, estimated to cost over $1 million, will also involve constructing a new shared parking lot.
