Shepherd University has announced an initiative to automatically admit local high school graduates from Berkeley County Schools with a GPA of 2.5 or higher without the need for a formal application, as reported by West Virginia Public Broadcasting. Graduates from four specific high schools are eligible, with an estimated 1,030 students anticipated to benefit this spring. This program aims to strengthen connections between local schools and the university amidst a nationwide decline in first-year college enrollment, with hopes of future expansion to additional counties.
