MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Saint Joseph High School plans to reopen in Martinsburg for the 2025-2026 school year with partnerships with Shepherd University and Blue Ridge Community and Technical College (CTC), marking the return of high school level courses to the area after over 50 years. Deacon Pat Michel, head of the school, highlighted that these collaborations will offer students opportunities to take college-level courses, engage in hands-on career training, and explore fine arts, enhancing their educational experience. With five teachers already on board and plans to expand athletic programs, the school aims to fulfill a significant need following the closure of the nearby St. Maria Goretti High School. Shepherd University President Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix and Blue Ridge CTC President Dr. Pete Checkovich emphasized the importance of this partnership in preparing students for future success, whether in higher education or careers.
