In a plea agreement with county prosecutors, David Antonio Calderon, a 46-year-old Ranson resident, has pled guilty to felony assault charges connected to two violent incidents in April, following his earlier charge for the murder of a woman in nearby Charles Town. The judge presiding over the case, David Hammer, will determine the prison sentence length, which can range from two to ten years for a malicious assault, and one to five years for an unlawful assault. This case underscores ongoing concerns regarding violent crime and illegal immigration in the region, as reported by The Spirit of Jefferson.
