Martinsburg Man convicted on drug charges by federal jury

In an article published by The Journal, Desmond Lamont Davis, 33, from Martinsburg, was convicted by a federal jury for drug trafficking, specifically fentanyl and cocaine possession. The jury found him guilty on three counts after evidence revealed he was discovered with significant quantities of fentanyl (72 grams), cocaine (131 grams), and cocaine base (42 grams) during his arrest following a police pursuit. With prior convictions for drug-related offenses, Davis faces a sentence ranging from five to 60 years in federal prison. Co-conspirator Karmen Grimes, 24, previously pleaded guilty to a cocaine charge and received five years probation. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys and investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug Task Force and U.S. Marshals Service.
