The Spirit of Jefferson reports that the Jefferson County Commission unanimously approved significant increases to impact fees on new residential developments, effective June 1, following internal discussions. The commission also decided to postpone a vote on commercial development impact fees to seek further consultation from TischlerBise, the firm that provided recommendations for the residential fees based on a recent study.
