Jefferson County Commission Considers Major Increase in Development Impact Fees

Commissioners hear recommendations for higher development impact fees

In a special meeting reported by The Spirit of Jefferson, the Jefferson County Commission discussed proposed increases to development impact fees on new construction, following insights from a study conducted by TischlerBise. Currently, impact fees for a single-family home are set at $1,944, but recommendations suggest raising this by $7,381, totaling $9,331 for new homes. Newly-elected commissioners Cara Keys and Jack Hefestay participated in the discussions, which aim for a decision by year-end.
