In a recent meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Education, reported by The Panhandle News Network, the board decided to table the potential closure of North Jefferson Elementary School after receiving new information from Superintendent Dr. Chuck Bishop. The school had been under review due to efficiency considerations, with plans to relocate students to other elementary schools as a new Ranson Elementary is being constructed. The board also discussed the Communities in Schools program and approved various policies to align with state regulations, while addressing ongoing issues related to high school sports playoffs.
