Eastern Panhandle cities receive millions in grants for pedestrian and trail improvements

According to The Journal, Governor Jim Justice has announced $13.9 million in grants for 36 projects across West Virginia through the Transportation Alternatives and Recreational Trails program, with five projects located in the Eastern Panhandle. Among them are significant initiatives in Berkeley and Jefferson Counties, including funding for the Martinsburg Creekside Trail, sidewalk constructions in Ranson and Shepherdstown, and improvements to Sam Michael's Park. These projects aim to enhance pedestrian infrastructure and community parks, promoting growth and connectivity in the region.
