Eastern Panhandle Receives $13.9 Million for Trail and Sidewalk Enhancements
Eastern Panhandle cities receive millions in grants for pedestrian and trail improvements

On November 4, The Shepherdstown Chronicle reported that Governor Jim Justice announced $13.9 million in grants for 36 transportation and recreational trail projects across West Virginia, with five projects in the Eastern Panhandle. Notably, Berkeley County will receive funds for the Martinsburg Creekside Trail and sidewalks near South Berkeley Inwood Park, while Jefferson County projects include significant sidewalk expansions in Ranson and Shepherdstown, as well as improvements at Sam Michaels Park. These projects aim to enhance community connectivity and promote outdoor activities.
