West Virginia's White Grass Ski Area has opened early for the winter season thanks to the state's first winter storm, reported by WBOY 12 News. With several inches of snow in Tucker County, White Grass Cross Country Ski Area has made 50 km of trails available for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. While downhill ski areas like Snowshoe Mountain and Timberline Mountain are still waiting to announce their opening dates, outdoor enthusiasts can also enjoy tubing at River Riders in Harpers Ferry, which has opened its slopes. Travelers in the area are advised to exercise caution due to a Blizzard Warning in effect until Sunday.
