Berniece Collis receives the Berkeley County Distinguished Citizen Award

In an article published by The Journal, Berniece Collis has been honored as the 30th Berkeley County Distinguished Citizen by the Potomac District Shenandoah Area Council of Scouting America. Collis, a lifelong resident of Berkeley County and an esteemed educator, has dedicated her career to supporting students with learning disabilities and has been deeply involved in Scouting, earning her 60-year pin from the Girl Scouts of the USA. Her extensive contributions to education and community service, including her leadership within the Girl Scouts, led to her recognition. She will be celebrated at the annual Berkeley County DCA Banquet next April, highlighting her commitment to empowering youth through various programs.
