Bee Line DAR Donates Revolutionary War Genealogy Books to Local Libraries
The Journal reports that the Bee Line Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) donated copies of 'Genealogical, Burial, & Service Data for Revolutionary War Patriots Buried in West Virginia' to three local libraries. Representatives from the Bolivar-Harpers Ferry, Charles Town, and South Jefferson Public Libraries accepted the books, presented by chapter members. This project, initiated by former State Regent Cheryl Brown, involved extensive research by DAR members across the state to document the burial sites of Revolutionary War Patriots, including notable figures such as Charles and Samuel Washington, the younger brothers of George Washington. The book serves as a significant resource for those interested in Revolutionary era genealogy in West Virginia and includes extensive appendices, a bibliography, and an index.
