Shepherd University has partnered with Berkeley County Schools to implement an automatic enrollment initiative for graduating seniors from Hedgesville, Martinsburg, Musselman, and Spring Mills High Schools. Students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher will be automatically accepted, streamlining the transition to higher education and fostering closer ties to the community. This program, as highlighted by BCS superintendent Dr. Ryan Saxe and Shepherd President Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix, aims to enhance educational opportunities and is expected to benefit over 1,000 students by 2025. The initiative underscores Shepherd's commitment to student success and its plans to expand similar collaborations with nearby school districts.
